trance music is electronic music that relies heavily on synthesizers to make its iconic sounds. Most trance music do not have vocals and have either a hook melody running through the entire length of the track or improvisation from the DJ to provide the melody. A sub-genre of trance video however, acts as an exception to this norm and uses vocals quite extensively. This is an example of how trance music can borrow from other genres of music to expand and adapt which is one of the reasons it sounds attractive to new fans and old ones alike.

Famous trance DJs make videos to popularise their music and to act as a good marketing tool as well. The trance community made up of fans of trance music has taken to it quite well too, making their own fan videos for their favourite tracks. Some up and coming DJs start out making trance mixes of popular songs trying to establish their own style. Videos of these trance mixes are also made, either by the DJs or by the fans themselves.
